Распространенность синдрома апноэ-гипопноэ сна как во взрослой, так и в педиатрической популяции, может оцениваться только приблизительно, так как далеко не все пациенты, страдающие этой патологией, могут привести адекватные жалобы, способствующие диагностированию заболевания. Например, только синдром обструктивного апноэ сна, по данным английских эпидемиологов, встречается среди взрослого населения с частотой, сопоставимой с распространенностью бронхиальной астмы. Поскольку метаболический ацидоз, вызываемый ингибитором карбоангидразы ацетазоламидом, стимулирует вентиляцию лёгких, было выдвинуто предположение, что применение этого препарата будет эффективным при нарушениях дыхания во время сна. Особенно широко распространено применение ацетазоламида для медикаментозной коррекции синдрома апноэ-гипопноэ сна центрального генеза как у взрослых, так и у детей. При использовании ацетазоламида для длительной терапии дыхательных нарушений у взрослых пациентов, основной проблемой является возможное развитие толерантности к ингибитору карбоангидразы при непрерывном продолжительном применении препарата. В педиатрической практике, напротив, синдром апноэ-гипопноэ сна, как правило, является транзиторной проблемой раннего детского возраста, и не требует длительной лекарственной терапии, что обусловливает особенно высокие перспективы эффективного и безопасного применения ацетазоламида для коррекции дыхательных расстройств сна именно в этой категории пациентов. </p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSA) is life-threatening condition in adults and children. Prevalence of OSA in adult and pediatric population is not well-established as not all patients have clear clinical picture. In Britain prevalence of OSA syndrome is comparable to asthma disease. Acetazolamide can cause metabolic acidosis, which can stimulate pulmonary ventilation and proposed to be effective in treatment of sleep breathing disturbances. Acetazolamide is widely used to therapeutic treatment of central OSA in adults and children. In adults administration of this drug can have problems of tolerance if administrated chronically.
