За последние 300 лет человечество, наряду с обретением всех «благ цивилизации», столкнулось с ростом числа заболеваний, возникновению и прогрессированию которых способствует нынешний образ жизни людей в развитых странах мира. Не секрет, что мы находимся перед лицом всемирной эпидемии ожирения — ключевым фактором риска развития сахарного диабета (СД) тип 2, сердечно-сосудистых заболеваний (ССЗ), артериальной гипертензии (АГ) и инсульта, а также различных форм рака. По данным ВОЗ, более 1 миллиарда взрослого населения мира имеют избыточный вес, и по крайней мере 300 миллионов из них страдают ожирением.
