Несмотря на достижение в последнее десятилетие значительных успехов в изучении патогенеза, клиники и лечения хронической сердечной недостаточности (ХСН), данная патология по-прежнему остается широко распространенным и прогностически неблагоприятным заболеванием. Научный мир пока не может прийти к единому мнению в отношении целесообразности назначения статинов при ХСН. Данные по их эффективности и безопасности противоречивы и требуют уточнения, поскольку пациенты с ХСН систематически исключались из большинства крупномасштабных исследований со статинами. Учитывая, что снижение уровня липопротеинов низкой плотности не является единственным механизмом положительного действия статинов у больных ХСН, большое значение придается плейотропным эффектам этого класса лекарственных средств.

Despite our knowledge about pathogenesis, clinical characteristics and treatment, chronic heart failure (CHF) remains widespread disease with poor prognosis. However, there is not a common opinion whether statins are reasonable in patients with CHF. The data about efficiency and safety of statins are contradictory and demand evidences due to regular exclusion of patients with CHF from the majority of clinical trials of statins. The reduction of the level of low-density lipoproteins is not the unique mechanism of favourable effect of statins in patients with CHF, therefore, their pleiotropic effects are considered very important.
