В настоящее время хорошо описаны различия между мужчинами и женщинами в области эпидемиологии, патофизиологии, клинических проявлений и исходов большинства сердечно-сосудистых заболеваний. Эти различия обусловлены особенностями экспрессии генов половых хромосом и, соответственно, отличными уровнями половых гормонов, что, в свою очередь, приводит к половым особенностям функционирования сердечно-сосудистой системы (в частности, различия динамики сосудистых реакций, ремоделирования миокарда, метаболизма лекарственных препаратов и других функций). Гендерные особенности течения артериальной гипертензии обусловлены не только биологическими, но и социальнокультурными факторами (различия в поведении, форме питания, образе жизни; копинг-стратегии; особенности в отношении к лечению и профилактике заболеваний и так далее). Проблема половых особенностей в регуляции артериального давления и терапевтических подходов к лечению артериальной гипертензии продолжает оставаться предметом пристального интереса и дискуссий. Этим определяется актуальность настоящей статьи.

The epidemiology, pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, treatment effects and outcomes of the majority of cardiovascular disease differ between men and women. These differences occur due to the various expression of sex chromosome genes resulting in the different levels of sex hormones. As a result, gender-related differencesin the functioning of cardiovascular system are well-known, including vascular regulation, heart remodeling, drug metabolism, etc. Gender differences related to the cultural and social factors (behaviour, nutrition, life style, coping-strategies, relation to the disease and its prevention, etc.) also affect the course of cardiovascular diseases including hypertension. The gender–related issues of the regulation of blood pressure and therapeutic approaches to the treatment of hypertension remain the subject of high interest and debate.
