Наиболее сложно достичь эффективного снижения АД у пациентов старших возрастных групп. При этом известно, что систолическое АД (САД) у лиц 55 лет и старше является наиболее сильным прогностическим фактором сердечно-сосудистых осложнений. Эффективными препаратами для снижения САД и пульсового давления (ПД) являются тиазидоподобные диуретики (ТД) и антагонисты кальция (АК). Свое положительное действие препараты доказали и в отношении аортального АД, повышение которого связано с высокой жесткостью артериальной стенки и типично для пожилых людей. Комбинация ТД и АК относится к рекомендуемым согласно современным алгоритмам и руководствам по АГ, однако в связи с отсутствием фиксированной комбинации она не находила широкого клинического применения. Современные данные по эффективности и безопасности индапамида-ретард и амлодипина позволяют утверждать, что их комбинация может стать альтернативным вариантом лечения больных АГ, особенно у пациентов с высоким САД и ПД, у пациентов пожилого возраста и других групп пациентов с высокой жесткостью артериальной стенки.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"/><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>артериальная гипертензия</kwd><kwd>пожилые</kwd><kwd>старение</kwd><kwd>кардиоваскулярный риск</kwd><kwd>гериатрия</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>arterial hypertension</kwd><kwd>elderly</kwd><kwd>aging</kwd><kwd>cardiovascular risk</kwd><kwd>geriatrics</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Turnbull F.
