The paper is dedicated to the influence of thyrotoxicosis on the heart geometry, possibility of its reversal, depending
on level of thyroid hormones, and therapy (methimasol versus propilthiouracil). Moreover, the impact of ß-blocker therapy
is described. Additionally data on the level of von Willebrand factor in thyrotoxicosis and its changing depending on medical therapy and thyroid status is provided.

In article the received data of pilot research of application of an angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor zofenopril in patients with paroxismal form of atrial fibrillation without structural diseases of heart are submitted. It is shown, that prescription of zofenopril in this category of patients is an effective and safe method of treatment. Probable mechanisms of positive influence of a preparation on current of an arrhythmia are discussed.

G-CSF effects on experimental myocardial infarction in rats have been studied. Morphometrical evaluation was performed of the infracted zone as well as of the density of capillary and undifferentiated vessels in the surrounding granulation (issue. By day 7 G-CSF had no influence on the size of the infracted area, but I he vessel density eras substantially increased following administration of G-CSF. Existing data on G CSF effects on angiogenesis art- controversial. The results obtained favor stimulatory effect оf G-CSF on angiogenesis in healing of the myocardial in fare I ion.

The paper is devoted to the rationale, design and first results of the ADVANCE study, its discussion and interpretation concerning clinical practice. The problem of blood pressure control in diabetic patients is reviewed, the impact of ADVANCE study into intensive blood pressure control is stressed.

In this study a new method of clinical plastination was applied to the study of structural relations of aortic root with surrounding structures. As a result the topographo-anatomical base for aortic root reconstructive operations was created. We developed educational videolecture which displays functional and structural features of aortic root. The results of this study are designed for cardiologists, cardiac surgeons and ultrasound specialists.
