Biography: Nedogoda Sergey was born on December 13, 1958 in Volgograd. He is married, and has two children. In 19761982 he studied at the Medical Faculty of the Volgograd Medical University, after graduation, upon recommendation of the Scientific Council he began scientific work. After clinical residency (1982-1984, internal medicine) in the I Leningrad Medical Institute named after Academician I.P. Pavlov he entered the PhD studies (cardiology) at the Department of Internal Diseases #2 (Head, Academician V.A. Almazov) and defended his PhD in 1987. In 1987-1991 he worked as an assistant professor of clinical pharmacology and intensive care in the Volgograd Medical Institute. In 1991-1995 he headed the newly created course of clinical pharmacology at the Postgraduate Medical Faculty, the Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Intensive Care Unit (Head, Academician V.I. Petrov). Since 1993, he has been the Associate Professor at the Department of Clinical Pharmacology. In 1996 he defended his doctoral thesis and became a professor at the department of family medicine. Since 1995 he has been the head of the newly created Department of Therapy and Family Medicine of the Faculty of Advanced Medical Training (later, in 2011, reorganized into the Department of Therapy and Endocrinology). In the period from 1994 to 2002 he was dean of the Faculty of Postgraduate Medical Training and since 2002 he has been the Vice-Rector for clinical work Volgograd State Medical University. For more than 15 years he was the chief physician and chairman of the certification commission on internal diseases of the Regional Health Committee of the Administration of the Volgograd region. Since 2015 he has been the chief endocrinologist of the Southern Federal District. As a national expert, he was involved in the development of Russian guidelines on arterial hypertension, obesity, metabolic syndrome, chronic kidney disease, chronic heart failure, stable angina. He regularly participates in the organization of national congresses and symposia, also as a member of the program committee. |
Membership: He is a national expert of Russia at the European Society of Cardiology (since 2014 to present time), member of the Presidium of the Board of the Russian Society of Cardiology (since 2010 to present time), President of the Russian Antihypertensive League (2013-2016), member of the Central Council of the Russian scientific medical society of physicians, a member of the working group of the Ministry of health of the Russian Federation on the development of drug supply strategies of the population of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2025, an expert of “Roszdravnadzor”, a member of the Dissertation Council on the basis of Volgograd State Medical University (the specialty 14.01.04 - Internal Diseases); member of editorial boards and editorial boards of around 15 national and foreign scientific medical journals, including “Kardiovaskulyarnaya terapiya i profilaktika” (Cardiovascular Therapy and Prevention, in Russian), “Kardiologiya” (Cardiology, in Russian), “Serdce” (The Heart, in Russian), “Serdechnaya nedostatochnost'’ (Heart Failure, in Russian), “Arterial'naya Gipertenziya” (Arterial Hypertension, in Russian), “Ambulatornyj priem” (Outpatient visit, in Russian), “Meditsinskij sovet” (Medical Advice, in Russian), “Journal of Advanced Clinical Pharmacology”. |
Research activity: Since 1991 he was the National Coordinator and Principal Investigator of multicenter Russian and International Studies (about 40 studies phase II-IV in total) of new drugs in the metabolic syndrome, hypertension, coronary artery disease, heart failure, diabetes, COPD, asthma. In the Volgograd State Medical University he organized regular courses on Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and evidence-based medicine, and more than 200 researchers have been trained by present time. Under his supervision, 14 PhD theses and 1 doctoral thesis were defended; he is the author (co-author) of more than 550 publications, 300 of which are indexed in the RSCI, SCOPUS, WoS.
